For nearly a decade, Dan Hamilton worked steadily toward his bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degrees from the University of Illinois.
“I look back at all of the things that I was able to do while at U of I, and there is no doubt that they were all integral in my preparation for the work force,” he said. “I, like many, learned a great deal through taking classes, but perhaps the most important learning opportunity for me was the on-farm application of those classes and the research that I was able to conduct during my graduate training.”
After serving as a visiting associate professor, Dan Hamilton began his corporate career at Gentiporc, a swine genetics company. Today he is the company’s director of international director of technical services.
“I really enjoy the portion of my position where we take our research findings and product developments, find ways to implement them, then see those successes in our farmers’ and producers’ hands,” Dan said.
