The Swine Research Center (SRC) is approximately 3.5 miles south of the Quad at the Urbana campus. SRC occupies approximately 10 acres and is a 200-sow farrow-to-finish operation. The Swine Research Center (SRC) hosts a surgery suite, storage facility, a small feed manufacturing facility, animal housing, and animal support space. Research conducted at SRC focuses heavily on nutrition, metabolism, reproduction, and behavior.
